Absence makes the heart grow fonder

Dave and I have been finding marriage a joy, despite all the challenging adjustments and discoveries, from day one. There is nothing like a prolonged separation, though, to make us realise just how much we do love each other and delight in each other's company! Since Dave arrived back on Monday, from nearly three weeks away, we've been rejoicing in God's gift of marriage. We are amazed that God has given us more than we dreamt of or deserved, in the gift of each other. A life partner who loves God is sure worth waiting and praying for.

  1. AMEN!
    That is the truth!
My hubby (when my oldest was 4 and my youngest not even in the womb yet!) was in England on business for a total of 3 months...with 1 visit back. Then, the next year he was in Italy for 8 weeks with a quick trip home (and baby 2 was conceived!). He went back to work in Italy only to get a phone call from me 5 weeks later announcing the pregnancy! He hasn't traveled as much in recent years...but boy...I sure remember that feeling of overwhelming love when we would pick him up at the airport!
